Slow Quenching in Groups using NUV
Dust, Gas and Star Formation in Galaxies Throughout Cosmic Time

While it is commonly accepted that most galaxies on the red sequence contain largely older stellar populations, it has been known that small amounts of star formation will still be present in these galaxies by using NUV-r colours (Yi et al. 2005; Kaviraj et al. 2007; Schawinski et al. 2007). This residual star formation has been found both Elliptical galaxies, and in optically red spiral galaxies (Crossett et al. 2014). This suggests that two different kinds of mechanisms are occurring within this population of galaxies that may depend on morphology.

I will present results using the NUV-r colour as a way to investigate the differences within this low star formation population in ~8000 groups using Galex UV data and SDSS for z500Myr), compared to the recent burst of their bulge dominated counterparts.
