Habitats for life may exist on cold minor bodies of the solar system. Example habitats include liquid water layers below icy crusts of giant-planet moons, and dwarf planet or moon surfaces with complex chemistry. I will present results from ground-based telescopes on out-gassing of molecules from Europa and Enceladus, and surface/atmosphere data for Pluto (in the run-up to the New Horizons encounter in the week after NAM!)
