The Sun, our nearest star, affects the Earth and heliosphere in many ways through its activity. Furthermore, studying the Sun, our nearest star, can teach us much about processes operating in many astrophysical contexts. The Solar Physics General Session provides a forum for reporting research concerning activity and physical processes in the Sun, from interior to atmosphere, which are not within the remit of other specialist sessions. We welcome contributions describing advances in solar physics based on space- or ground-based observations, simulations or theory.
