This work presents a short educational video, which has attempted to deliver comprehensive information on the main detection methods of exoplanets, namely the transit method and the radial velocity method. We focus on clearly presenting the physical principles behind the astronomical topics at a level of material suitable for secondary school students who are interested in physics. The video is intended to provide a summary of a topic, but with sufficient background to allow motivated students to pursue the subject with more detail on their own. The animation was created as an entry for SUPA (Scottish Universities Physics Alliance) Video Contest in the beginning of 2015 and is now freely available to view online and subtitles for it exist in multiple languages. Future work is now ongoing in order to produce similar educational materials.
