The solar UV network is a strong contributor to the total solar irradiance and as such is of scientific interest. The 1600A and 1700A images provided by the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) allow this network to be viewed at high resolutions across the whole of the solar disc.
In this work we attempt, through various image analysis techniques, to quantify the covering fraction of the network at UV wavelengths and investigate the time-related behaviour observed.
