In the chromosphere, the temperature is at a minimum which results in a partially-ionised plasma. For such a plasma, there are neutral particles which are thought to play an important role in magnetic reconnection events occurring at chromospheric levels. This is due to the emergence of a perpendicular component of resistivity. We numerically model 2D magnetic reconnection in a partially-ionised plasma using the magnetohydrodynamic fluid description. This allows us to investigate in depth reconnection events occurring at chromospheric levels.
